“More than 2000 units sold in 80 days leading to sales worth £25,000″

Sales in 80 days

Recently, AMA Consultants launched an investment-based product on Amazon: a set of 6 drawer organizers, under the Qoolish brand name. Qoolish is a Private Label brand that aims to be the leading e-commerce store in the Home & Kitchen category on Amazon. We offer a wide range of welldesigned and functional home organizing products at a reasonable price without compromising on quality.

Leveraging Knowledge of The Four Main Pillars of Amazon To Attain Sales

Owing to the combination of complicated factors such as seller fee increments, brand restrictions, account suspensions and numerous other factors may make it appear as if Amazon FBA is a grim e-commerce prospect. One may question that is it even possible to be successful at retail arbitrage in today’s market? The answer to that is yes! Like any business, a holistic and streamlined approach to Amazon FBA results in amazing brand building opportunities. Our approach to setting up PLs on Amazon cover four fundamental pillars.

Adminstration

The administration side of things is the primary step for selling on Amazon, if the base is set properly then the selling process will flow more smoothly. For Qoolish we designed a checklist for ourselves to ensure that all activities and factors are accounted for.

Amazon Seller Central

Setting up a seller central account can be a tedious task, but is quite
straightforward with the correct documentation. AMA Consultants has
this base covered as we have a fully functional and verified seller central account as well as an operational bank account in the UK. Therefore we have the bandwidth to project our time and efforts into the other three components of selling on Amazon instead.

Product Research & Analysis

When searching for a product, there are several variables AMA Consultants keeps in mind to ensure that the product will result in a successful investment. The variables include the following

  • Product Research
  • Keyword Research
  • Preliminary Sourcing
  • Marketing Strategy Budget
  • Product Feasibility Budget

“Drawer organizers have over 40,000 monthly searches on Amazon in the United Kingdom”

Here at AMA Consultants we perform a self administered product hunting criteria (PHC) Test in which we shortlist a ‘golden product’ based on numerous forms of statistical data and research parameters identified through state of the art tools such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout and Merchant Words among others. After rigorous research and sifting through data we came upon drawer organisers through the data presented later in this study. Drawer organisers have over 40,000 monthly searches on Amazon in the United Kingdom, establishing an exceptionally high baseline demand for this product. This led to a ripple effect in which the product was run through the AMA Consultants PHC Test, and following that the product was pushed into the feasibility analysis phase.

The PHC Test

Drawer Organisers Product Feasibility Reports

The feasibility analysis based on the crunched data presented a potential for healthy profits through the FBA model. The purpose of this analysis is to establish whether a researched product can justify the financial resources it demands for its launch. Factors taken into account included the following.

“The initial investment needed to launch the drawer organisers on Amazon was an estimated £28,344″

Initial vs Actual Invesment
Product Sourcing

Having found a ‘golden product’, the next steps moving forward involved running a patent check, sourcing samples from Alibaba, sample testing, inventory purchase, creating shipping plans and labels, as well as managing logistics. Before we could start purchasing inventory for the drawer organisers, we had to ensure that the product was not patented. This is a crucial fundamental aspect as selling patented products can result in permanent account suspensions in addition to the product listing being shut down by Amazon. The patent check for this product cost us about $150, and the product cleared the check. This jump-started the supplier sourcing process on Alibaba, AMA Consultants contacted over 20 different suppliers and ordered samples from five shortlistd suppliers to obtain the best prices, most efficient shipping time, and optimal product quality.

Flowchart

The supplier negotiation process involved negotiating the best EXW rate, including the freight cost, as well as the DDP rate. Following
intial negotiations, samples were ordered as we moved on to the final aspect of sourcing. Having obtained the samples after 15 days, we ordered our competitor products from the UK to compare the quality of our competitors’ products with our own.

At AMA Consultants we believe in creative strategies for competitor research; therefore, we studied the negative reviews of our competitors and discussed our findings with our supplier to improve upon the product being sold in the market.

When the samples were approved by our team, we asked our finalized supplier to start manufacturing the product. The finalized supply cycle included a 2-month production timeline and a 1-month transit timeline. The final step on the supply side involved providing our supplier with our FBA shipping labels which allow the supplier to ship the inventory directly to the Amazon warehouse.

Product Ranking

Many experts believe that this is the stage where you either make it or break it on Amazon.

“Bestseller and Amazon choice badge in the first 37 days of the launch led to an influx in sales by 68% causing the Qoolish listing to go out of stock”

When AMA Consultants entered into the “Home & Kitchen” category and the “Clothes Drawer Organisers” sub-category, we wereranked 43,059 and 4,307 respectively upon launch. In exactly 37 days following launch were number 1 in the sub category and 1,648 in the main category.

Review Ratings

“Being ranked number one in our sub category, Amazon awarded our product the ‘Best Seller’ and ‘Amazon Choice’ badges on the product listings. This worked to our advantage and boosted sales.”

To attain the aforementioned results, there were several expertly crafted marketing activities performed during pre-launch as well as post-launch. Our marketing strategy for drawer organizers ranking strategy included 6 components

  • Listing Optimisation
  • PPC Campaigns
  • Amazon Stores
  • Enhanced Branded Content
    (EBC)
  • Amazon Promotions
  • External Marketing Techniques / Branding on Social Media

To create our listing we made use of tools such as Helium 10, Keyword Planner, and Google Trends to conduct keyword research and pick out the most effective keywords to integrate into the written content for the drawer organizers listing. After conducting the keyword research the written content was created using a mix of the Content Writing Audit metrics of 2021 and with the help of content tools such as Scribbles and Frankenstein (Helium 10 Services. Our team boasts some of the best listing optimization services on the market.

Simultaneously the photography and graphics team was working on the creative content of the product which included white background images, lifestyle images, video ads for PPC, as well as videography for the listing itself, social media platform, and the Qoolish Amazon storefront.

Qoolish Declutter

An essential and fundamental component of safeguarding the brand and marketing strategy was to register an Amazon Brand Registry account for Qoolish. Brand Registry enabled us to post EBC content and make use of other marketing services on Amazon to boost traffic, such as audio ads, Amazon storefront, and more.

“A total of 1000+ units sold through PPC with sales worth £15,500″

Qoolish got 57% of its sales through PPC while the remaining were organic sales. PPC enables sellers to make use of paid-per-click advertisements / sponsored ads. In a single day, sales for PPC can reach up to 39 orders or more for this listing.

c20

We set up 14 various types of PPC campaigns with some campaigns targeting long tail keywords while others were set for short tail keywords. Additionally, we were also testing video PPC ads to reel in traffic. The traffic from PPC sales boosted organic sales as the listings exposure to Amazon’s algorithm grew.

“For the first 8 months the cash flow tends to be negative, then in the 12th month we hit the start to reel in profits. Following that, after the 18 month we hit the breakeven point for launching a product on Amazon “
